Question 1

Why do you focus on Persian and Exotic Shorthair cats?

Accepted Answer

These breeds often need regular grooming, eye care, and breed-specific medical support. Our experience with Persians helps us understand those needs and prepare adopters for their care.

Question 2

Why do you rescue cats from China?

Accepted Answer

We partner with dedicated rescuers in China who identify cats in need and provide care on the ground. We help fund veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and foster support.

Question 3

Do all of the cats come to the United States?

Accepted Answer

No. Some cats are adopted in China. When appropriate and all legal and health requirements are met, we bring cats to the U.S. for adoption.

Question 4

What medical care do cats receive?

Accepted Answer

Before adoption, cats are spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and tested for FIV and FeLV. We disclose known medical conditions and ongoing care needs.

Question 5

Can I help if I'm not adopting?

Accepted Answer

You can foster, volunteer, donate, or share our available cats on social media.

Question 6

Are donations tax-deductible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. 7Paws Foundation is a registered U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Question 7

Why are 7Paws adoption fees higher than some local shelters?

Accepted Answer

Many of our cats require veterinary care, rehabilitation, foster care, and transportation before adoption. Adoption fees, currently $500–$800, help offset a portion of these costs but typically do not cover the full cost of rescuing and preparing a cat for adoption.
